Vocational Matters
Links with local schools are very important to us and with ever increasing strains on school budgets there are always opportunities to help out. We provide prizes and judges for annual public speaking competitions at Riverside Middle School, College Heath Middle School and Mildenhall College of Technology as well as providing prizes and judges for the annual technology and art awards at Mildenhall College of Technology.

In commemoration of Fred Dannatt, founder governor of Mildenhall College of Technology and founder President of Mildenhall Rotary Club, a memorial scholarship trust fund was set up in 1983 and is administered by the Rotary Club. The aim of the the trust fund is to offer financial support to individual senior pupils or small groups of senior pupils from Mildenhall College of Technology wishing to undertake enterprising expeditions or travel activities.
Some examples of actual activities funded by the trust include visits to cathedral camps at St. Albans and Coventry, a trip to the Danish Atlantic Treaty Association Youth Seminar, visits to Egypt and Finland and ongoing sponsorship of a promising athelete who is now competing and training at international level. |
