Peter Thompson 2000-2001

2000-2001 was a record fund raising year for our club for local, national and international charities. Peter's chosen charity was the Jubilee Sailing Trust who specialise in adventure sailing holidays for the able-bodied and disabled people.

We were able to sponsor a local couple, Andrew & Jo Gaskill for a trip on the tall ship 'Tenacious'. Andrew and Jo visited our club before and after the trip and they presented us with a framed photograph. They were a little anxious before their journey and although they were made to work very hard on the ship during the voyage, they were both very thankful for an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to do something they would not normally have had the chance to do.
